Opening a Layout

When you start TrainPlayer, the Layouts dialog appears:

This shows a list of all the layout files in the Layouts folder under your installation directory.  Each entry shows:

• Layout name.  Those from 101 Track Plans include the layout number from the book.
   
• Size in HO, height X width in feet.  These values are approximate -- they are calculated based on the size of the image rather than on dimensions listed in the book.
   
• Filename.  Files are located in the directory shown at the top of the dialog.  To see layout files from a different directory, use the Choose... button and navigate to it.

To open a layout: click a line to select it then click Open, or double-click a line.

To sort the list by number, name, size or filename: click on the header at the top of the corresponding column.  Click again to sort in reverse order.

To rebuild the list from the files in the directory: click Refresh List.  The information in this dialog is collected from the files themselves.  If the directory contents change, use this command to rebuild the dialog list.

Other ways to open layout files:

• Use File Open and choose a file
• Use File Open Layout to bring up the Layouts dialog
• Double-click a TrainPlayer layout file on your desktop or in Finder
