Nicolas is a talented young artist from Ecuador, specializing in 3D
animation and graphics. We asked him to try his hand at model
railroad scenery, and the results are dazzling.
Starting with some of our favorite layouts submitted by users --
those with interesting track plans, but not much in the way of
decoration -- Nicolas added roads, trees, mountains, waterways,
buildings, farms, and delightful landscapes to watch as you cruise.

To exercise his
talent to the fullest, we asked him to reproduce the dramatic scenery of
John Allen's masterpiece, the Gorre &
Daphetid, starting with the published plan. He produced not
only a breathtaking rendition of the full layout, but a second version
with night-time lighting.
