This is the installer for all Windows products and upgrades.  Click the button to begin.

Note: if you have been running 3.1, you will need to uninstall it before you can install 3.2.  (This does not apply to 3.0 or earlier, these can continue to run alongside 3.2.)

If you chose Save, double-click the downloaded msi file to continue.

After download, choose Run:

Click Next and continue through the install procedure:

You see different wording in this dialog if you have already installed 3.2 -- you can choose Repair, Modify, or Remove.  Choose Repair if you want to update your current installation.

About This Installer

This is our 3.x one-size-fits-all installer.  It contains TrainPlayer, TrackLayer, the screen saver, online help, and a small collection of sounds, car types, and layouts.  It serves as the free demo version, the upgrade for existing users, and the complete version of all products for new users.

The majority of layouts and car collections are no longer delivered by the installer.  Instead, they are available online, where they can be browsed and downloaded one or several at a time from the web tab of a chooser dialog.  What you see of the online collection depends on what sort of license you have.

•   Running the free demo:  the demo includes all features of TrainPlayer, and most of TrackLayer if you choose to activate those.  Along with the installed layouts and cars, you have access to a generous selection on the web, including samples from the various for-sale collections.  The screen saver is not available in the demo version.  The demo trial period is now set to 30 days, starting the first time you run the program.
   
•   Upgrading from 3.0 or 3.1 to 3.2:  if you are a licensed 3.x user, the installer will upgrade your program and screen saver* to 3.2.  Your existing layouts and car collections are not modified, and will be shown in the chooser along with the small set of new installed ones.  You do not need to uninstall 3.0 before installing 3.2, but you will need to uninstall if you are running 3.1.

* The screen saver is now included in all purchased products.  Users of standard versions who did not previously have the screen saver now get it with the 3.2 upgrade.  See the readme for instructions on how to activate it after installation.

•   Installing a purchased product:  if you are a new buyer, thank you!  No additional download is necessary if you already installed the 3.2 demo.  All you need to do is enter the license code you received*, and it will unlock the features and collections you paid for.  Use the Upgrade License command on the help menu if you are not prompted for the code.  To access your layouts, use File Open Layout, Web tab.

* Your license code is sent by e-mail within 24 hours after your order is received.  If you do not get it, please inquire at support@trainplayer.com.  Sometimes the e-mail address on the order is wrong, or the message lands in a spam folder, or we are otherwise unable to reach you.

•   Upgrading from a version prior to 3.0:  this installer will not work to go from 2.2 to 3.2.  You will need to purchase an upgrade package on our Products page.
