What's New |
|
|
The latest version features new
Properties dialogs
which give you information about the track, including curve radii.
This and the last couple of versions have introduced
features for handling
large multi-section layouts, where the train glides from one
window onto another. Many bugs have been fixed, including problems
with turntables and annoying messages when drawing track. Licensed
users may download the free upgrade here: More Included Layouts Standard versions of TrainPlayer and TrackLayer now come with twice as many layouts as before, including the room-size Grand River Western, called the "most popular of all model track plans;" the interesting Pittsburgh, Midvale & Ironton yard; the ever-popular switchback Cerro Azul, now in horizontal orientation; and the copper ore-hauling Butte, Anaconda & Pacific, both in schematic view and Linn Westcott's wonderful scenic rendering shown here.

All users who purchased standard TrainPlayer or TrackLayer prior to
2/24/06 are entitled to download the new set of layouts free of charge: New User Layouts Recent layouts contributed by users include the Axle Wrap RR, a 2x8 HO module by Harry Vig; Gary Jacobs' colorful photographed N-Scale Peanut; John Hubbard's tiny micro HO Next Layout; Stephen Foster's version of the San Ramon Valley RR; and of course a steady stream of new designs by George in the Baustert Gallery. Do you have a layout you'd like to contribute? We'll give you a free copy of TrainPlayer in exchange. Click here for details.

Train Mountain We are working with the folks at
Train Mountain in Chiloquin,
Oregon to bring you what Guinness once called the "World's Largest Hobby
Railroad" -- 300 acres of scenic countryside covered with 1/8-scale
track. A trial version of the layout is available in TrainPlayer
form, both the 2000 track plan drawn on an aerial photograph and the
2006 version in crisp schematic. Licensed TrainPlayer users are
invited to try the pre-release version. For details, click here: Visit the Hobby Shop Visit your local hobby shop, deliver some TrainPlayer promo materials, and make a few bucks! We are starting a new campaign to place take-home flyers in hobby shops, and are looking for volunteers to deliver them and earn commissions on any resulting sales. For details, click here.
